Sailings between Stornoway and Ullapool have been cancelled tonight (Tuesday) and tomorrow morning (wednesday) due to adverse weather.
In one of the busiest weeks for the islands as they play host to the Royal National Mod, there are expected to be some travel changes for those coming to the islands.
Many competitors wre booked on this evening’s ferry from Ullapool but it is thought alternative arrangements have been made for them to travel through Harris.
John Morrison, chief executive of An Comunn, said: “We are liaising closely with CalMac and the local committee to ensure competitors and visitors are kept informed of the latest information regarding the weather and how it is affecting travel arrangements.”
Ullapool-Stornoway 18/10/11 @ 1735 hours and Stornoway-Ullapool 19/10/11 @ 0700 hours have been cancelled. Weather permitting the timetable will resume from Ullapool at 1025 hours on 19/10/11. Oban - Lochboisdale/Castlebay - Oban 18/10/2011 cancelled due to adverse weather. An additional service will operate tomorrow (Wednesday 19th) as follows: Dep Oban 0630, Arr Uist 1140, Dep Uist 1150, Arr Barra 1330, Dep Barra 1340, Arr Oban 1850.
Freight Stornoway to Ullapool 18/10/2011 cancelled for today.
