Due to popular demand, Sandwickhill School will be open for one final time for members of the public to view the exhibition of the school’s history.
The school will be open on Wednesday, June 27th from 7pm until 9pm and all are welcome.
The school was opened in 1880 and over the following 132 years generations of children and staff have passed through its doors.
The photos on display date from the first headmaster through to the present day, recording the schools activities, pupils, staff and friends.
There is bound to be someone you recognise! Come along and walk the school’s corridors, view the photographs and school memorabilia and enjoy some memories!
It is also possible to place pre-orders for a publication of the School’s history currently in production by Stornoway Historical Society and Sandwickhill Community Council, priced at £10, at the event or by emailing:
The project is being supported by funding from Bòrd na Gàidhlig with practical assistance from the ERDF-funded Tasglann nan Eilean Siar (Hebridean Archives).
