THE Lewis Christian Conference Committee has confirmed it will hold its first conference in June 2012.

The conference will take place from Friday, June 29 through to Monday, July 2.

The speaker will be Charles Price, the Senior Pastor at The Peoples Church, Ontario, Canada. He spoke at the Northern Convention in Inverness in 2010, where his preaching was very well received.

Charles came to Christ through a Billy Graham film at the age of 12in Hereford, England.

On leaving school he farmed for two years in Zimbabwe before returning to England to attend Capernwray Bible School for one year. He then spent three years at the Bible Training Institute in Glasgow, Scotland.

He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree by Tyndale University in Toronto in 2004.

In September 1993, Charles was appointed Principal of Capernwray Bible School while continuing in a wide international conference, convention and evangelistic ministry. He has preached in over 75 countries on five continents around the world and is the author of seven books.

Charles has been the Senior Pastor at The Peoples Church, Ontario, Canada, since September 2001 with a weekly congregation of 3,500 people.

He has a weekly hour-long television programme, Living Truth, which is broadcast coast to coast in Canada each week, as well as in the United Kingdom, Europe, India, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Korea and Japan.

Charles has been married to Hilary since 1980. They have three children: Hannah, Laura and Matthew.
