Parents and children enjoyed a Gaelic family fun afternoon in the Lewis Sports Centre in Stornoway recently.

The bi-annual event has gone from strength to strength over the last three years.

Parents again had the opportunity to talk to different Gaelic organisations about what support and resources were available for their kids, and indeed themselves, if they were to choose Gaelic Medium Education, and the benefits that GME and bilingual education gives.

The kids themselves were well entertained with a free bouncy castle, face painting and an art table.

Iona Mactaggart, Gaelic Medium Education Officer with CnaG and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, said that she was delighted with how the day had gone.

She said: “ It was great to be able to speak to so many parents who were showing a genuine interest in choosing Gaelic Medium Education for their children.

“I would also like to thank all those who took part in the day to make it a success.”

Supporting/Attending the event were Acair, Storlann and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.
