AT least 60 families and 120 children enjoyed the recent Gaelic family fun afternoon in Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais in Stornoway.
The event has gone from strength to strength over the last three years. Parents again had the opportunity to talk to different Gaelic organisations about what support and resources were available for their kids, and indeed themselves, if they were to choose Gaelic Medium Education, and the benefits that GME and bilingual education gives.
The kids themselves were well entertained with a bouncy castle, face painting and an art activities.
Iona Mactaggart, Gaelic Medium Education Officer with CNAG and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, said that she was delighted with the great turnout on the day.
She said it was great to be able to speak to so many parents who were showing a genuine interest in choosing Gaelic Medium Education for their children. She also wanted to thank all those who took part in the day and made it such a success.
