Scarista on Saturday was most definitely unspring like.

With freezing winds and more than the occasional passing shower, there were eight undaunted and determined hardy souls who filled their bags and took to the course in the penultimate round of match play.

Allan ‘Gunner’ Gunn came out on top against bill cross and Hugh MacLean with the latter setting a new personal best for fastest 14 holes thanks to the gunners “gentle” coaxing.

in the other three ball Billy the beard took the honours on the last hole after a titanic battle that saw both Simon Hunt and James Dunne hold the lead at various points during the match.

The upshot being both The Beard and The Gunner go into the final round on eleven points each two points clear of Willie Fullton.

What happened to the other two players I hear you ask?

Well that is shrouded in mystery and perhaps its best we don’t know who came out on top between Roddy Alec MacDonald and Morag MacDonald
