A PLEA for extra bed spaces across the Outer Hebrides has been issued by the Hebridean Celtic Festival organisers in advance of this year’s event.

Demand for accommodation during the festival period (July 13-16) has always been at a premium and with such prominent acts in the line-up this year, such as KT Tunstall, an ever greater number of visitors are expected to come to the islands.

Working with VisitScotland, the Festival Organisers are eager to know of any additional bed spaces throughout Lewis and Harris, particularly in the Stornoway area for that week.

Caroline MacLennan, Festival Director, said: “Demand for accommodation during the Festival is always at a premium and we want to ensure that visitors to the Festival will be able to come to the islands confident that they will have somewhere to stay.”

Anyone who has any spare accommodation and would be willing to take visitors into their home for festival week should contact the VisitScotland Tourist Information Centre in Cromwell Street, Stornoway on 01851 703088 or email Stornoway@visitscotland.com

Tickets for the Festival – which also features Seth Lakeman, Stornoway, Peatbog Faeries, KAN, Rachel Sermanni, Mànran and Dàimh amongst others – are available from www.hebceltfest.com or 01851 621234.
