THE last gathering of Iochdair Junior Youth Club, South Uist for the summer has taken place with a visit from Olympic Torch bearer Gemma Steele from South Uist who showcased the Olympic Torch to the children.
The group also held their annual Scottish Cycle Training Scheme and 10 young people proudly received their certificates after completing their cycle course.
June had been a very interesting month for the kids on the whole with the end of term annual day out, Buchanan Coaches brought the group down to the Am Politican in Eriskay for a lovely lunch and following this time was spent on the beach.
The weather was amazing on the day and allowed the group to have fun and play different activities and on the way back home the group also stopped at Daliburgh playpark.
Group organisers would like to thank all the children for supporting the youth club over the last year and to the local communities and all those that contributed to the March fund raising sponsored silence which raised more than £700.
