Four local charities are in the running for contributions from the Bank of Scotland Community Fund 2013.

Crossroads Lewis; Star For Harris; North Uist Amateur Athletic Club and The Leanne Fund could scoop £3,000 if successful – and your vote can help.

Crossroads Lewis is the only third sector provider of home-based respite care and support for carers in Lewis – the fund would help enable 12 carers living in remote island areas have a few hours respite a week.

North Uist Amateur Athletic Club is committed to young athletes, from age five upwards, and the funding would enable the sports stars to compete in national events on the mainland.

The Leanne Fund works to provide special treats and experiences for young people in the Highlands and Islands with Cystic Fibrosis; and, based in Fort William, the Star For Harris supports children throughout Scotland who are being treated for cancer by providing music therapy programmes and resources.
