Katie Morag star Cherry Campbell visits an Lanntair exhibition

The Katie Morag exhibition ‘From Croft to Katie Morag’, which is presented at an Lanntair arts centre, Stornoway until June 20th, had a recent visit from actress Cherry Campbell who plays the character.

Cherry is the youngest ever winner of a Children’s BAFTA for her role as the iconic Scottish character Katie Morag, the feisty little girl who lives on the fictional Island of Struay.

Cherry visited the exhibition on May 23rd following the launch of new exhibition, which was created in collaboration with Move on Up productions, the BBC, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Katie Morag author Mairi Hedderwick.

First published in 1984 the Katie Morag series now numbers 14 books and the exhibition includes Mairi’s original artwork, including the complete story of The Tiresome Ted, and features the story of the filming with original sets from the hugely successful CBeebies and CBBC television series.
