Kilda Cruises took the top spot in the Best Outdoor Adventure Experience category at the recent Highlands and Islands Tourism awards at the Kingmills Hotel, Inverness.

The Harris-based company pioneered the first day trip service to St Kilda in 2005 and now run boat trips to the Shiant Isles, Flannan Isles, Rona, and Monach Isles.

Angus Campbell, owner of Kilda Cruises, was awarded an Honorary Life Membership to the St Kilda Club for his services to the island.

Commenting this week Angus Campbell said: “It is an honour to receive the award and I am pleased for the whole team who put so much effort into the trips.

“We had a fantastic night and this has brought the season to a great end!”

The award means that the company now automatically qualify for the same category, along with the front runners from other parts of the country, at the prestigious Scottish Thistle Awards in March.
