Leverburgh RNLB Lifetime Care was called out last night (Thursday) at 7.30pm to assist a passenger vessel in difficulty.
The 12.8 m passenger vessel, which had 15 people on board, had suffered engine failure between the islands of Pabbay and Shillay, to the west end of the Sound of Harris. Upon reaching the vessel, the crew of the lifeboat established a towline between the boat and the lifeboat and then proceeded to Leverburgh pier, where the boat was returned to its mooring. The lifeboat returned to station and was re-fuelled and ready for service again by 2130.
This is the Lifeboat’s 4th call-out since the station was made operational on 11th May.
