Leverburgh RNLI Lifeboat will host an Open Day, at their station, on Saturday, May 10th. The open day has become an annual event since the Lifeboat arrived in May 2012.

People will have the chance to meet the RNLI Mascot, Stormy Stan, who is very excited to be making the journey to Harris especially for the occasion!

There will be children’s games, and plenty tea, coffee and baking for all.

There will also be a raffle, tombola and auction, all of which will help raise funds for the RNLI.

The RNLI’s sea-safety tent will be at the open day, where people can find out all they need to know about being safe at sea.

People are also encouraged to take their lifejackets along, as the local sea-safety officer will be doing FREE lifejacket checks on the day.

Leverburgh Lifeboat, RNLB The Royal Thames, will be alongside Leverburgh Pier (pending operational requirements), to allow people to have a look around, chat to crew, and find out more about the work of the RNLI’s volunteers.

In the event of bad weather, the open day will be held at Leverburgh Village Hall.
