Saturday, September 26 saw committee members of the Lewis branch of Cancer Research UK meet up to celebrate 40 years as a group.
The evening was a mixture of frolics and formality as speeches about the organisation’s history were interspersed with fun events put on my member of the committee.
The celebration evening welcomed two members who have been on the committee since it began in 1975. Joan Stewart and Murdina MacDonald have both served the board diligently and taken part in all kinds of fundraising efforts. Everyone attending a great time, with members dressing up as ABBA and sharing anecdotes about years of hard work.
