Lewis Highland Games saved after Gazette appeal

Lewis Highland Games is to go ahead after all.

After an appeal by Chair of the Games Committee, Margaret Macmillan, in last week’s Stornoway Gazette, a number of volunteers came forward to offer their services.

Mrs Macmillan said this week it would still be a lot of hard work but the reaction from the public had been enough to allow the historic event to continue.

The Games will take place on July 16 on Tong Playing Fields.
