Two Stornoway fire-fighters joined a crew of 19 volunteers who motored through Europe to donate life saving emergency vehicles to Moldova.

John Campbell, Watch Manager at Stornoway Fire Station, and Ian Murray, Crew Manager, were part of a crew which delivered six fully-equipped fire engines, two ambulances and a huge range of life-saving equipment to the eastern European state.

The two, and Charlie Nicolson of Lewis Blythswood, who has been a big fundraiser for Moldova, were presented with certificates of thanks at a ceremony in the country but John insists there is more to be done.
