100 'extras' wanted…but no-one with tattoos!

A Devon company, who are producing a short film telling the story of how the Harris Tweed industry came about, are looking for around 100 'extras' for next month.

Great Western Features say that people who are free for a filming day or two between June 10 and 20 should go the Studio Alba on Stornoway's Seaforth Road tomorrow (Wednesday) between 3.00pm and 6.00pm.

The company points out that their Harris Tweed story dates from 1846.

They point out, therefore: "We can't use people with highlighted or dyed hair or distinctive modern tattoos or facial piercings."

However, they say that people from the age of nine years to 109 years will be welcome.

The 'extras' will be paid for the filming day (12 hours) and a costume fitting.
