Carloway teens to have vote on estate future

At the public consultation meeting regarding the possible buyout of Carloway Estate, held in Breasclete Community Centre on Wednesday 29th January, it was unanimously agreed to extend the voting age for the forthcoming ballot to include 16 and 17 year olds.

All 16 and 17 year old residents on Carloway Estate are required to register with Noreen MacDonald (621295) before 4pm on the 6th February 2014 to be eligible to vote.

The steering group are confident that this will encourage young people to participate in the decision making process for the future of Carloway Estate.E
