Chair announced for Gazette referendum debate

Rev. Iain D. Campbell will chair the Stornoway Gazette Big Referendum Debate on September 1st.

The Stornoway Gazette Big Referendum Debate, which will be held in the final run-up to the vote on Scottish independence, will be chaired by Rev. Dr. Iain D. Campbell.

The former Free Church of Scotland General Assembly Moderator is currently the pastor at Point Free Church on the Isle of Lewis and has been a Stornoway Gazette columnist since 1999.

He is also a graduate of The Nicolson Institute and has served as the pastor of Back Free Church and as a minister on the Isle of Skye.

“It’s a big honour to be part of such an important debate at such an important time in our history,” said Iain D. “It is also an honour to bring such a national issue to a local forum like this.”
