Chair of YES campaign to visit Uist

Dennis Canavan the chairman of YES Scotland and former Labour MP will be extending his trip in March to include Uist, where he will be explaining his desire for an independent Scotland.

It was announced a fortnight ago that he would be visiting Stornoway as part of his tour around Scotland.

The Uist event will be taking place on Friday 8th March from 7pm in the Theatre Room of Sgoil Lionacleit and all are welcome to attend.

Western Isles MSP Alasdair Allan commented: “It’s great that Dennis will be speaking in Benbecula, where I’m sure he’ll receive a warm welcome. Dennis is living proof that the case for Scottish independence crosses traditional party boundaries. He is a powerful speaker who I am sure will make an exceptional case for a Yes vote next year.

“Whichever side people take in this debate, or whether they are yet to make up their minds, this promises to be an event worth coming to.

Angus MacNeil MP, added: “I am delighted that Dennis will also be going to Uist to speak about independence.

“Dennis, will be electrifying and I would encourage people, regardless of party or even viewpoint on independence to come along and listen and even take a different point of view.”
