The flight bound for Stornoway on Monday afternoon had to return due to an engine warning light coming on.
Passengers were told that the aircraft would have to return immediately to Glasgow.
A Loganair spokesman said: “Flight BE6826 departed Glasgow shortly after 2pm on Monday carrying 29 passengers and three crew.
“A warning light indication occurred during the early stages of the Stornoway-bound flight and the aircraft returned to Glasgow Airport where an auxiliary aircraft was introduced to complete the journey.
“We would like to apologise to our passengers for the inconvenience caused by the delay.”
