Ferry disruption and school closure

Adverse weather today (Friday) is affecting ferry services right across the Western Isles this morning.

MV Isle of Lewis departed for Ullapool at 7am, but due to ESE winds in excess of 40 knots the 10.25am and 17.35pm sailings from Ullapool and the 13.50pm sailing from Stornoway have been cancelled. 
Due to gusts in excess of 50 knots E/SE  all scheduled sailings Oban-Lochboisdale-Castlebay-Oban are cancelled. 
MV Finlaggan departed Tarbert at 07:30 for Uig, however all sailings for the remainder of the day remain on amber alert due to the adverse weather forecast.

Castlebay School on Barra is also closed due to the weather.
