MV Hebridean Isles, currently covering the Stornoway freight services after the Clipper Ranger was damaged when it collided with the pier, has also hit a pier.
A spokesperson fro CalMac explained a sudden gust of wind hit the vessel on Tuesday morning, repairs were completed at 12 noon today and she is due back in service later today.
The spokesman said: “The MV Hebridean Isles was hit by a sudden heavy squall while berthing after returning from the overnight freight run on Tuesday morning and came into contact with the pier in Stornoway.
“Repairs are underway and we expect her to be fixed by lunchtime today. As a result the overnight freight sailing on Tuesday was cancelled.”
He added: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
