Homes still without power in Harris

Around 30 households in Luskentyre, Harris are still without power this afternoon (Monday) after a fault on the overhead line network.

A spokesperson for Scottish Hydro Electric said they hoped to have power restored to all homes by 4.30pm.

The fault was reported at 1am this morning but due to adverse weather engineers had to delay work - the high winds and risk of lightning meant work could not be carried out safely.

A similar fault was reported in Carloway which left 145 homes without power through the night - this was remedied by 10.30am.

Scottish Hydro Electric would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience.
