A HARRIS man has spoken of his shock after the gable end of the house next door was sent crashing into his own home on Tuesday night as storm force winds battered the Western Isles.

Calum Morrison and his wife Marianne were one of three families evacuated from their homes on to Dunmore Crescent in Leverburgh on a night of high winds and high drama.

Fire crews were called to Dunmore Crescent in Leverburgh to assist at a property where the gable end was torn off in the ferocious gusts.
