At 2115 hours on Tuesday 4th March, Stornoway Coastguard requested the
assistance of Leverburgh RNLI Lifeboat, following reports of suspected flare sightings west of Grimsay, North Uist.
Stornoway Coastguard Rescue Helicopter and the land units from Benbecula and Griminish undertook a thorough search of the area.
At 2320 hours, having found that no-one was in any distress, the Lifeboat crew were stood down and returned to Leverburgh.
The Lifeboat was back on station, and ready for service again by 0120 hours.
This is the 3rd shout in less than 48 hours for the crew at Leverburgh.
