MacNeil highlights Barra flight implications

WESTERN Isles MP Angus MacNeil is writing to Loganair and Transport Scotland asking for details of the Glasgow to Barra schedule following Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s decision to remove the Barra to Benbecula flights, resulting in Barra losing half its flights.

Mr MacNeil: “Between Monday and Friday, before returning to Glasgow, the plane went to Benbecula, there is now a one and a half to two hour gap in the schedule which will probably mean timetable alterations.

“Since Comhairle nan Eilean Siar have axed the flights, I imagine the hole in the schedule will have a knock on effect on timetable implications and I would ask that no changes go ahead without consulting the community in Barra.”

He added: “I will be writing to both Loganair and Transport Scotland on this matter.”
