Western Isles SNP MP, Angus Brendan MacNeil is reminding crofters who participate in the Animal Welfare Management Programme, to submit their claims by 1st September 2014.
The Animal Welfare Management Programme (AWMP) is one of 23 Land Managers’ Options (LMOs) available under the current Scottish Rural Development Programme (SRDP). The aim is to support livestock producers to adopt and continually improve high standards of animal welfare over a five year programme.
Isles MP Angus MacNeil said: “The deadline to submit a claim for the Animal Welfare Management
Programme is Monday 1st September 2014 and I would like to remind participating crofters of this deadline.
“I know that crofters put a great amount of time and effort into this programme. It is very easy to forget to do the paperwork but SGRIPID civil servants appear merciless, even though the financial year has not concluded. It would be a great shame if crofters were unable to benefit because they have missed the deadline date for submitting claims.”
