Pedestrian bridge not safe for use

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar wishes to make the public aware that an engineer’s report has highlighted that the pedestrian bridge at Sponish, Lochmaddy is not safe for use. Warning signs are being displayed at the site.

The move follows an inspection report which shows that the bridge, built in the late 1980s, needs renovation.

Discussions are ongoing with the landowners and other interested parties on the future use of the bridge.
