Top story of the year for Gazette reporter

Stornoway Gazette reporter Eric MacKinnon took the Top Story of the Year award at this year’s Highlands and Islands Media Awards.
The award was for his ‘Horse in the house’ story which was picked up by both national and international press following his report.
He was presented with the award at a glitzy ceremony at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness on Friday.
He was also Highly Commended in the Sportswriter of the Year category.
Senior reporter Michelle Robson was Highly Commended in the Reporter of the Year category and reporter Jenny Kane was Highly Commended in the Young Journalist of the Year Award.
