It seems like an age ago, but it was only last week that the St Kilda Swim 2014 team were ploughing through the North Atlantic ocean in a bid to be the first people to swim to the remote Duel World Heritage site.
It was to be a trip of 60miles, and the team covered just over a third as at 24miles they had to call time on their challenge due to safety issues with the support boat and kayaks.
Stornoway Gazette reporter Eilidh Whiteford was one of the swimmers and you can read all about her adventure in this week’s Stornoway Gazette (out on Thursday, July 10th).
Here we see a few images of the epic challenge – and you can still donate to the charity fundraiser in support of the Leanne Fund, Yorkhill Children’s Charity and the Fishermen’s Mission by visiting www.stkildaswim.co.uk
You can also see loads more photos and videos from the trip at the team’s Facebook page ‘St Kilda Swim 2014’.
