Western Isles MSP Alasdair Allan, has praised the commitment of Marie Curie Cancer Care to providing specialist nurses in the islands.
Marie Curie have announced the appointment of two Registered Nurses and one Health Care Assistant covering Uist and Barra, with the expectation of further staff being recruited in Lewis and Harris.
Alasdair Allan commented: “The news that Marie Curie are making such a substantial commitment to the provision of specialist care for patients and their families in the islands is very positive indeed.
“As many families will be only too aware caring for someone with a terminal illness is an intensely difficult situation. It is good to know that an organisation with the reputation of Marie Curie is working so hard to provide the advice and support that patients and their families need.”
