Fire crews were called to two wildfires in the Western Isles yesterday (Wednesday).

Around 30 acres of moorland was destroyed at Leverburgh on Harris and crews from also tackled a blaze at Leurbost in North Lochs which crept close to local homes.

In Leurbost 100 acres of moorland was destroyed. Crews from Stornoway, Shawbost and Great Bernera attended.
