The Scottish Federation of Meat Traders and the Robert Burns World Federation are promoting 2014 as the Year of Haggis with a series of events which was launched this week in the Scottish Parliament.

The event was organised by Murdo Morrison, originally of Lewis, now of Wishaw, who is one of the presidents of the Robert Burns World Federation.

Western Isles MSP Alasdair Allan carried a Haggis into Parliament, after which he read out a Gaelic translation of Address to a Haggis, which was then given in Scots.
