A six week evening course on Loom Maintenance Skills was such a success that plans are being put forth to run another.

The course, which focuses on the general maintenance of the Double Width Griffiths Loom gives candidates the basic knowledge of the loom set up, how to maintain the loom and gives advice on the most common mechanical problems faced by weavers.

This course is part of The Harris Tweed training programme, developed partnership with the Weavers Association to ensure traditional skills are maintained within the industry.

Pictured are participants from the recent Loom Maintenance Course which was held in the old Commun Eachdraidh, Ness. The articipantsp were very positive about what they had learnt.
