Man sues Comhairle over fall in the dark

A South Uist man is suing Comhairle nan Eilean Siar after he fell and broke his ankle as he walked home in the dark.

Michael Macdonald is pursuing a case against the council on the grounds that the street lights in Lochboisdale were switched off when they would normally be switched on.

He is seeking £20,000 damages from the council in a case which is ongoing at the Court of Session in Edinburgh.
