Minister meets new Crofting Commissioners

Environment Minister Stewart Stevenson will meet Scotland’s first elected crofting representatives on Monday (April 2).

The Crofting Commission will be formally established on April 1 and supersedes the Crofters Commission. The new Commission was one of the modernising measures introduced as part of the Crofting Reform Act 2010.

Mr Stevenson will meet the six elected commissioners, as well as the three ministerial appointees, during his visit to Inverness when he will also hear more about the work of the new commission.
