Police have confirmed the body of a young man found in Inverness on Sunday is that of 16 year old Scott Campbell, originally from the Isle of Lewis.
Scott’s body was found in the Culduthel area of the city following extensive searches for the missing teenager who had failed to return home following a night out on Saturday.
A post mortem is due to be carried out and enquiries into the death, which is being treated as unexplained, continue.
A Memorial Service for the teenager is to be held this evening (Monday).
The memorial service is to take place at 7:30pm tonight at the Culduthel Christian Centre, Culduthel Avenue, in Inverness.
Police understand that people may wish to pay their respects or leave floral tributes, but they would wish to discourage friends and other members of the public from visiting the locus of his death due to the potential disturbance which that may cause to neighbouring houses. They are encouraged instead to attend the Memorial Service this evening to pay their respects, where they will be welcomed by Scott’s family.
