Vodafone have confirmed mobile phone signal problems in the Stornoway area are a result of a mast fault.
A Vodafone spokesperson explained: “We are aware of a problem affecting a mast in Stornoway. A fault developed yesterday afternoon.
“We apologise to customers locally. Our engineers are investigating and we hope to get the service up and running as soon as possible.”
Angus MacNeil MP has received the below update from Vodafone regarding the fault in Stornoway:
“Our mast at James Street has had problems since yesterday afternoon. An engineer attended site today and found a faulty piece of hardware, so we have ordered a replacement part, and the engineer is due back on site later today to replace it.”
