POLICE today (Monday, December 5) have upgraded investigations into the suspicious death of 16 year old Liam Aitchison to that of murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Kenny Anderson can now confirm that following the result of a post mortem examination, the death of Liam is now a murder enquiry.
DCI Anderson said: “The response from the community in Stornoway to appeals for information has been very positive and I would appeal to anyone who may have information in relation to this crime to contact the incident room at Stornoway Police Station.”
He added: “In particular, we wish to trace witnesses who may have seen three people wearing hooded type tops, who were seen walking in the Steinish village area shortly after midnight on Tuesday, November 22, into the early hours of Wednesday, November 23. 2011”
