Acclaimed author Myles Campbell will be visiting Lewis in April as part of a new Gaelic Books Council initiative aimed at the Western Isles community.

Budding and fledgling Gaelic editors and proof-readers are invited to enhance their language and grammar skills at a three day intensive course to be held on April 8th to 10th in Stornoway.

The course - with a particular emphasis on Gaelic books and publishing - will be led by language guru Roddy MacLean, who will be joined by Myles Campbell who will provide a Gaelic writer’s perspective on the editorial process.

Campbell, who has strong Lewis connections, is a respected author of poetry, fiction,non-fiction and language learning materials.

Places on the course are limited. Fluent Gaelic speakers interested in working in the Gaelic editorial sector who would like to find out more, or who wish to apply for a place on the course, should email John Storey at the Gaelic Books Council on john@gaelicbooks.org
