To mark the completion of Back Free Church refurbishment, a thanksgiving service will be held today (Friday 24th May) at 7:30pm.
This official opening will conclude with a presentation followed by a time of fellowship in the church hall where a buffet will be served. The congregation and the wider community are warmly encouraged to attend this special evening in the history of our church.
Back Free Church minister Rev Calum Iain Macleod said: “This £115,000 project has been challenging but rewarding. Improvements to the building have included a new foyer area at the back of the church and extensive redevelopment of the crèche area including a new kitchen and facilities. We also undertook general improvements like repainting and recarpeting the church interior and upgrading the PA system.
He continued: “We now have a building complex that is multi-functional and user-friendly, and are delighted with the end product.
“Although this redevelopment project has been largely of a statutory nature, the church building has been further enhanced, improved and made more accessible for everyone. We look forward to welcoming folk from the wider Island community to our official opening on Friday evening.”
The service will be led by Rev Calum I Macleod. Rev Alasdair I Macleod will preach on the evening.
Any donations made on the evening will go towards the congregation’s Refurbishment Fund.
