The Co-operative Food is to sponsor Stornoway’s annual professional festive panto, for the third year running.
Stuart Morrison’s version of Aladdin, being staged in January at An Lanntair, with help from Stornoway Thespians, is to receive an £800 sponsorship boost from the community retailer, which has two stores in the town. The cash will help with transport costs to bring the show to Lewis.
Michael Boylan, The Co-operative Food’s Operations Manager in the Western Isles, said: “Stornoway’s pantomime is becoming a great annual tradition, and, as a retailer who plays a key role in the local community, we’re very pleased to have the opportunity to support it.”
The show’s organiser, Stuart Morrison, said: “Aladdin will be a tremendous family show, with great special effects and some top stars. To receive generous sponsorship from The Co-operative Food, for the third year in a row, is a wish come true. We’ll be auditioning soon, and then rehearsals will be underway before we take to the stage in January.”
Aladdin will be at An Lanntair, in Stornoway, from January 16 to 19 next year, and there will be special ticket deals for Co-operative Food customers.
