CARLOWAY Free Church and Church of Scotland joined forces for a special pirate themed summer club for local children from Shawbost to Garynahine at Carloway community hall.

Landlubbers, based on Philippians 3:8, proved to be a swashbuckling adventure for children and adults alike and more than 40 children attended the week long club with games, songs, drama and crafts on offer.

The week cumulated in a barbeque for friends and family, the inaugural tug of war on the Saturday night and Praise night on Sunday.

Both events were well attended and a big thank you goes out to all those who helped make the club a success, from the children, their parents and families, the leaders, the local community and the Rev. Kenny Macleod and Rev. Stephen Macdonald without whom the summer club would not happen.
