Planning fees to increase in April

The Scottish Government has increased fees for planning applications by 20 per cent from 6 April 2013.

As a result, planning applications registered by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar from this date will need to be accompanied by the new fee level.

Planning Fees were last increased three years ago in April 2010.

This fee increase takes the planning fee for a new dwellinghouse up to £382, that for a householder extension to £192 and the Prior notification fee for agricultural buildings to £74.

The Comhairle Planning Service advise that anyone considering making a planning application and unsure about the fee due to contact their development management team – Stornoway 01851 822690 or Balivanich 01870 604990.

The full details of the new fee levels will also be published on the Planning Service pages of the Comhairle’s website.
