Preparing for a busy October

Pictured are the Highland Dancers from the Lynn Maclean School of Dancing.

The girls are busy preparing for the North of Scotland Championships and the Mod this October.

They range in age from 9 years to 16 years, with the younger girls dancing for the first time at the North of Scotland Championships in the Intermediate Section and five of the older girls taking part in the Pre-Championship Section.

With competitors from all over Scotland coming together for this competition it is a great chance for dancers from the Islands to take part in a larger competitive competition.

The girls won’t have long to recuperate as within a week they will also be taking part in the Highland Dancing Competition at the Mod in Inverness and then later in the year some dancers will be travelling as far as Thurso.

We wish them and their dance teacher Lynn Maclean all the best as they leave in October to represent their dance school.
