Advocacy Western Isles has launched a new promotional DVD which has been produced with support from MG ALBA. The DVD was launched at the Advocacy Western Isles AGM recently held in Stornoway.

The organisation Isles provides a range of support services to adults, individuals with learning difficulties, children and young people across the Western Isles and the DVD, which lasts 20 minutes features contributions from four of the organisation’s clients as well as from some of the key staff involved.

The DVD will be a vital tool in the organisation’s ongoing fund-raising and sponsorship drive and has been produced by MG ALBA Facilities with Christine Morrison (Corcadal Productions) in the role of Producer/Director.

Filming for the DVD took place around various locations in Lewis and Benbecula with all post-production including editing, addition of graphics and music being done at the MG ALBA premises in Seaforth Road, Stornoway.

Ernie Garden, Chairman of Advocacy Western Isles said: “Over the past ten years Advocacy Western Isles has gone from strength to strength. Many individuals throughout the Western Isles can bear testimony to the fact that their lives have been enhanced through the help given by Advocacy Western Isles.

“We would like to thank the MG ALBA team for their tremendous support in providing us with the  DVD which will assist Advocacy Western Isles greatly in our ongoing efforts to secure financial support for our work and which will also give our funders a flavour of the sort of important work which we do”

Chris MacDonald, MG ALBA Television Services Director said: “MG ALBA recognises that fact that we have an important role to play in supporting communities throughout the Western Isles and further afield. We are delighted to have been able to support Advocacy Western Isles with this project which we hope will help them in the long-term to continue with the important tasks that they do throughout the islands.”
