October proved a quiet month for the volunteer crew of Stornoway RNLI with just one shout at the beginning of the month.
The ‘Tom Sanderson’ RNLI lifeboat launched at 1550hours on Saturday, October 4th to the aid of a capsized dinghy in the Tarbert Linkspan area.
Two children and one adult were reported to be sitting on the hull of the upturned vessel.
Stornoway Coastguard Search and Rescue helicopter was also tasked to the scene.
The Stornoway RNLI crew turned back shortly after launch however, as the stranded trio were recovered by a local boat. The ‘Tom Sanderson’ returned to berth at 1600hours.
