Stornoway Amenity Trust held their annual summer School Boards competition at the end of term and the winners are Sgoil Lionail.
The colourful boards designed under the theme ‘Crofting in the Hebrides’ by local school pupils are on display around the town of Stornoway.
The judges in the Stornoway Gazette office had a difficult task in choosing a winner but decided Sgoil Lionail’s board was very detailed and imaginative. The school will receive a £100 prize from the Amenity Trust.
Second prize goes to Sgoil Uig who will receive £50 towards school funds and third prize goes to Sgoil a’Bhac who will receive £25.
Next year’s summer boards will be on the theme of Homecoming to mark Scotland’s Year of Homecoming and coincide with the Harris Tweed Hebrides Tattoo 2014.
