Highlands and Islands MSPs have tabled a motion in the Scottish Parliament congratulating the Minch swimmers.
Labour MSPs Rhoda Grant and David Stewart have offered their hearty congratulations to the eight strong relay team that completed the swim across the Minch to raise money for the RNLI to mark the 125th anniversary of the Stornoway lifeboat.
Rhoda Grant said “Swimming 43 miles in open waters is no mean feat but doing so with the added dangers of encountering whales and other sea-life really is quite an achievement.”
David Stewart commented “The swimmers, and everyone else involved in the challenge, are to be congratulated, particularly as the proceeds raised from the event are to be donated to such a worthy cause.”
Western Isles MSP Alasdair Allan has also congratulated the team on their achievement.
